History
In October 1973, thirteen Histologists from Massachusetts attended the Histology Symposium at Silver Springs, Maryland. A meeting was held among these attendees and it was decided to start a society. Early in November, a general meeting was held at Framingham Union Hospital and over 70 Histologists attended. After this enthusiastic response, it was obvious a state society was needed.
The pro-term officers named in Maryland were voted in by the founding committee members so that the incorporation process could be started.
